Larry Hostetler's handmade and custom knives are displayed in the following pages. Some were orders created between the customer and myself. All were created with a passion to build custom knives for the daily user or the collector.
I have a saying in my shop, "Every day carry (EDC) doesn't have to be ugly". I make every knife with the belief it will be put to the test by a professional tradesman or the every day user. A work knife receives the same quality treatment as a collector knife.
I began in 2001 as a part time maker, as of April, 2018, I started as a Full Time Knife Maker due to my retirement from my other career which shared my time for knife building.

Manufacturing Process: I use only the highest quality products in my knives. All work is completed in my shop. I use a lot of stainless damascus as well as high carbon damascus, 440C stainless steel, 0-1 high carbon tool steel.
All blades are ground from damascus billets or bar stock. I utilize a hollow grind process for blade grinding. I prefer a mirror finish, occasionally I do a hand rubbed finish or a glass bead finish. As a customer, your preference will dictate how the knife is finished.
As a knife maker, I enjoy using exotic materials to finish off my knife handles: Mammoth Tooth & Mammoth Ivory, stag, various bone, horn and anything fossilized. The fixed blade sheaths are all "Hoss Knives" sheaths, made of high grade leather, handmade, custom fit and molded to each knife. Every folder is provided with a Hoss made pouch.
